Chat Shortcuts

Shift + Enter New line in message (without sending)
Escape Clear current input / close modal
Up Arrow Edit last sent message (when input is empty)

Navigation

Tips

Multiline Messages

Use Shift + Enter to write multiline messages without accidentally sending them. Press Enter when you're ready to send.

Quick Navigation

Use Ctrl/Cmd + K to open the command palette for quick access to conversations, settings, and actions.

Focus Management

  • Tab moves focus between interactive elements
  • Escape closes modals and popups
  • Click the chat input area to refocus it

Customization

Keyboard shortcuts may be customizable in future updates. Currently, the shortcuts follow standard web application conventions.

Platform Differences

macOS

  • Use Cmd instead of Ctrl
  • Cmd + Q quits the app
  • Standard macOS keyboard conventions apply

Windows / Linux

  • Use Ctrl for all shortcuts
  • Alt + F4 closes the window
  • Standard keyboard conventions apply

Mobile

  • Keyboard shortcuts are not available on mobile devices
  • Use touch gestures and on-screen buttons instead

Troubleshooting

Shortcut Not Working

  • Check if a modal or overlay is capturing keyboard input
  • Click in the chat area to ensure focus is correct
  • Some shortcuts may conflict with browser shortcuts
  • Try refreshing the page

Custom Shortcuts

  • Browser extensions may override some shortcuts
  • Disable conflicting extensions if needed
  • Desktop app shortcuts take precedence over browser shortcuts
